Former Premier League and La Liga striker, Michael Owen, has
tipped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United to beat Paris Saint-Germain in
tonight’s Champions League round of 16 first leg tie at Old Trafford.
Man United head
to the game following a 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League encounter
over the weekend while PSG defeated Bordeaux 1-0 in the French Ligue 1 fixture
on Saturday.
Owen told
BetVictor: “The first meeting between the clubs and no French side has ever won
at United in European competition (L10 D4).
“I wouldn’t have
said it two months ago, but I don’t think Paris will buck that trend on what is
sure to be a great Old Trafford occasion.
“Neymar and
Thomas Meunier will miss the game through injury for the visitors and Edison
Cavani was forced off at half-time at the weekend with a hip injury.
“The French side
have already lost on English soil this season (3-2 at Anfield in the Group
stages) and I feel United will take a lead back to the French capital for the
second leg.”
The kick-off time
for the match is 9pm.
